T his article is all about how to install command line tools on macOS Catalina. Command Line Tools: Mac users get access to useful tools, utilities and compilers, including make, GCC, clang, perl, svn, git, size, strip, strings, liptool, cpp and many other useful commands that are part of Linux installations. After upgrading to MacOS X 10.15 Catalina, I cannot run any git commands in my shell: The default interactive shell is now zsh. To update your account to use zsh, please run chsh -s /bin/zsh. Apple is moving away from the bash shell on macOS. The new macOS Catalina update will include zsh as the default shell, and older macOS versions can also move to the new shell too.
